Two Trustees Reappointed to GTCC Board

JAMESTOWN, N.C. (Nov. 18, 2020) – George W. Clopton and Brent D. Moore have been reappointed to the Guilford Technical Community College Board of Trustees. Both trustees will serve four-year terms.

George W. Clopton has served as a trustee since 2016 and was appointed by the Guilford County Board of Commissioners. Clopton, of Jamestown, retired in 2015 as corporate vice president of distribution operations at Ralph Lauren.

Brent D. Moore, of Greensboro, joined the board as a trustee in 2018 and chairs the finance committee. He was appointed to the board by Gov. Roy Cooper. Moore is the chief executive officer and general counsel of ABM Capital Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund specializing in equities and equity derivatives. He serves on the board of the Greensboro Sports Council, Charlotte-based Interpreters Unlimited and several domestic startup companies. 

The college's Student Government Association president, Maurice Furet of Greensboro, was sworn in at the board’s Aug. 25, 2020, meeting. Furet will serve a one-year term as a nonvoting member of the board. 

At its July 9, 2020 meeting, the GTCC Board of Trustees elected officers for 2020-2021. George Ragsdale will serve as board chair, Dr. Treana Bowling, vice-chair and Matthew Soule, secretary.
